SkillsMOT, a complement to existing validation system, makes skills recording accessible to all and ensures consistency with future EVC procedures. In the SkillsAPK system, skills are recorded in a reliable register. This innovative approach ties in with ongoing personal development, with SkillsAPK transparently recording informally learned skills. This contributes to optimal employability and flexibility in the labor market.

When is SkillsMOT useful?

SkillsMOT is ideal for self-assessment without EVC, especially with experience in business or industry subfields. The system, based on work experience, adapts as needed and can be used later in an EVC procedure. It provides a solid foundation for career development with development advice. Employers get detailed insight into employability profiles, while employees share reliable skills information through the SkillsAPK register.

Examples include: CLA-linked job descriptions, statutory occupational requirements, industry standards and self-developed occupational standards by employers. The outcomes of SkillsMOT are listed in a register, allowing the candidate to demonstrate his or her skills to anyone who wants them

Trustworthy basis

The SkillsAPK council is formed by sector and industry organizations working with validated skills registration systems. The SkillsAPK system, developed by the VVEA, is open to all organizations wishing to offer skills passports. Ownership is transferred to the Talent Valuation Foundation, with oversight from the SkillsAPK Council, and provides a compact, low-threshold validation of skills to complement the EVC system.
Providers of skills registration systems can apply here to authorize themselves for the only independent skills platform. By being part of this independent skills platform ecosystem, governed by industries and sectors, you commit to Dutch agreements and become a reliable partner for candidates and employers.

SkillsMOT-register

The SkillsMOT register is a public register where the professional development of professionals is being recorded. It is managed by the Qualifications Chamber on behalf of the Talent Appraisal Foundation. Registration of SkillsMOT certificates takes place after verification of the offered SkilsMOT information by the Qualification Chamber secretariat.
